Tin Dragon Trail Cottages - Heritage Walks & Interpretation

HENRY AH PING WALK: This easy 2 km walk starts near the Settler's hut at Tin Dragon Trail Cottages and takes the visitor along the Ormuz/Arba water race and via the Jubilee tail race into the historic alluvial mine site. At the heart of the mine site is a quiet site shaded by Sasafras, Myrtle and tree ferns. Here the visitor can contemplate the feeling of place - "by putting oneself in another's position, your wisdom reveals". Walking time is an easy 20 minutes.

GUIDING STAR BRISEIS RACE CIRCUIT WALK This walk can be accessed near the Chinese Heritage Walk's Settler's Hut. The easy 6.7 km walk takes the visitor along the Ormuz Water Race through regrowth rain forest beside the Ringarooma River (historic Fon Hock mining leases) and then tracks uphill alongside the Guiding Star Creek to meet the Briseis Water Race, where Sclerophyl forest type predominates. Allow 90 minutes to complete. There are some great picnic areas on the rocks of the Guiding Star Creek or near the collapsed flume on the Briseis water race track.
